... cake baker, decorator, sugarcraft tutor and owner of Iced Innovations. Growing up in a creative family, I always loved art and design. However, my cake story only started thanks to my lovely aunt-in-law who made our wedding cake 26 years ago. I was amazed at the stunning and intricate sugar flowers she had made and I wanted to learn myself. I made my first wedding cake (badly!) in 1995 for my sister’s wedding and my love affair for all things cake began. After moving to the UK from Cape Town, South Africa I left my medical job and obtained my ABC Certificate in Cake Decorating at Brooklands College in Surrey. This consequently led to the opening of Iced Innovations in 2006.
My passion is to create your perfect cake and I will work closely with you from our initial meeting to delivery and careful set up at your chosen venue. By listening to your ideas and applying my professional and artistic experience, I am able to create your perfect cake. I love cakes to reflect your personality and style, maybe you are looking for something classic and elegant with stunning sugar flowers, or rather you are wanting something unique with quirky wedding toppers. Whatever you like, I can design the perfect cake for you. For instance, choose between traditional royal iced cakes, semi naked and buttercream cakes, or would you like something more contemporary?
I offer a friendly, personal and professional service to create a bespoke centrepiece cake. Using quality ingredients and made with meticulous attention to detail, your cake will taste even better than it looks. Choose from decadent chocolate, vanilla sponge, carrot, fruit cake or anything in between with a variety of fillings. Additionally we can cater for clients with special dietary requirements such as gluten, nut and dairy free cakes.
Even more, I am also a freelance tutor, offering 1:2:1 and group classes. I have taught students from all over the UK and abroad including students from France, Dubai, India, Turkey and Australia. As well as having written several articles for Cakes and Sugarcraft Magazine with my cake designs regularly published in Wedding Cakes Magazine.
