Once you have booked your venue, get in touch with an email or telephone call to start the process. I can supply a guide for the size of wedding cake you require and a rough price. If you are happy with this, I then recommend coming for a face to face meeting and tasting session.
Yes! I hold regular consultations and tastings throughout the year. My face to face consultations are complimentary and you’ll get to try 6 of my flavours, or you can upgrade to a bespoke consultations where you can choose what flavours you would like to taste, cost for this is £25 which will then be deducted from the cost of your cake if your choose to book.
Consultations are a fantastic opportunity for us to meet and discuss the design of your wedding cake in relation to the size, shape and decoration. Unfortunately, I can only offer face to face consultations and tastings for wedding cakes. Quotes are valid for 3 months.
Yes of course, if you are unable to attend one of my consultations I can send out a tasting box via next day delivery. You can then enjoy them in the comfort of your own home. Each tasting box contains 6 different flavours and costs £25. If you then go ahead and book your wedding cake with me the £25 will be deducted from your final balance.
As it is only me who designs, bakes and decorates all of the cakes, I am only able to take on a limited number of cakes each week. Sometimes, I may be able to accommodate a cake at shorter notice, so please do always ask.
I am currently taking orders for 2020, 2021 and even as far in advance as 2022. Key dates book up quickly and I am already fully booked for June, July and August 2020 with limited availability for the rest of the year. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like me to create your wedding cake. I hate to turn people away.
If you wish to book your cake early but are unsure of what you want, this is not a problem. a non-refundable, non-transferable booking fee of £50 can be paid to secure your wedding date. This ‘Save the Date’ booking fee will be deducted from the final balance of your cake when booking.
A £100 deposit will secure your booking. No booking is confirmed until a deposit has been received. This booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment may be made in cash or by bank transfer. Once your deposit is received, I will sketch up your chosen designs and work with you until you are totally happy with your wedding cake design.
Two months before your big day I will contact you again and confirm your flavours and design, I will also invoice you for final payment due 1 month before your wedding date. Cakes will not be delivered or released until full payment has been received. Late payment or non-payment may result in your cake not being completed on time.
Cakes may be collected from me but I do not advise doing this as cakes are often very fragile and heavy which requires being set up on site. I highly recommend our delivery service where I will contact your wedding planner at your venue to discuss your timings on the day, your cake stand and best time to set up. Delivery within 15 miles of Weybridge is £25, other deliveries are charged at 85p per mile round trip. Delivery is complimentary at venues where I am a recommended supplier.
In the interests of food safety and hygiene, I recommend using organic edible flowers for decoration of your cake. I work with UK supplier Maddocks Farm Organics who can supply seasonal flowers to compliment your cake. However you prefer to get their wedding florist to supply flowers for their cake for continuity. If you choose to do this, I recommend that you consult with your florist on details of the flowers’ toxicity as not all flowers are suitable for placing on a cake for example peonies, gypsophilia and ivy. I am happy to advise on options for flower placement and the requirements for placing them on the cake such that if they are non-edible that they do not come into contact with the cake. If you use your own florist the contract is between the florist and yourselves and I cannot accept any responsibility for the flowers on the cake.
I have a variety of lovely cake stands to compliment your cake which are available for hire at a cost of £15, plus a £100 refundable security deposit per stand. Cake stands need to be returned within three working days of your wedding date upon which the security deposit is repaid in the absence of any damage. Late returns will be charged £5 per day.
To keep your cake as fresh as possible, store your cake in the cardboard cake box it is provided in.
Please store it in a cool, dry place away from any heat sources. Do not keep you cake in the fridge as this will cause condensation on the icing and decorations which will become wet and sticky.
Do not keep your cake in plastic tub or box as this will cause the cake to sweat.
Once you have cut your cake, keep it wrapped in cling film and stored in the cardboard cake box.
Leftover cake can also be wrapped in 2 layers of cling film and frozen. Please defrost completely before eating.
Your wedding venue will be issued with a cake information sheet about the allergens in each tier of cake as well as any non-edible items like dowels, sugar flowers, flower picks, cake toppers, ribbon etc.
